American Board of Internal Medicine

The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is a non-profit, self-appointed physician evaluation organization which certifies physicians who practice internal medicine and its subspecialties. It is not a membership society, educational institution or licensing body, but an organization that attempts to assess physicians through proprietary testing and completion of required modules. ABIM has issued more than 425,000 initial certificates in internal medicine and its subspecialties in the United States and its territories since its founding.〔ABIM. Number of candidates certified.
